I’m Miss Law (but all my kiddos call me Miss L!). I am so excited to be a second grade teacher this year. I can’t wait to get started on our adventures in Room 213!
This year is really going to be an adventure for all of us. I moved to Raleigh just a few weeks ago, all the way from England in the United Kingdom. I grew up in a city called Sheffield that is famous for lots of things: music, sport (Jessica Ennis Hill, the Olympian, is from my home town!), and steel. I’d love to tell you more about it and learn about everything you love about living in Raleigh I have taught second and third grade before, all the way up to fifth grade. I even worked in a boarding school at the seaside in England, where we had school on Saturdays! Even though each of my classes and classrooms have been unique, they have always had one thing in common: SMILES! I have a great family who live in England. My father is a teacher too! I have a nephew and niece who are in 1st and 3rd grade and I enjoy keeping in touch with them and telling them about my new adventures in North Carolina. We also have a family dog called Brian - he is so much fun and has lots of energy! One of my favorite things to do is read. I love books! My favorites are Harry Potter and Percy Jackson, but I also really enjoy Dr Seuss books and pictures books by Julia Donaldson and Oliver Jeffers. I am interested in history and once discovered a lot about my family history. As well as reading, I like to make things. I enjoy crochet and sewing, make jewelry and cards and love to bake and cook. I am unable to eat gluten or dairy so enjoy finding new ways to make yummy things! I like walking too, and am looking forward to exploring Raleigh and North Carolina this year. My favorite season is Autumn because I love the colors of the leaves. I'm really excited to be a teacher at Washington Elementary! I'm looking forward to meeting you all and learning lots together in second grade! |
